I don't think it hit me yet that I've gotten accepted into the Industial/Org. Psych Master's Program at FIU.
I got accepted to FIT as well, but that's just gravy....like UCF and George Mason from whom I've yet to hear from. Gravy gravy GRAVY!
So I guess this means I can relax now. I got into the school I wanted to attend. No more worrying......FOR NOW. :) |

| A Hot Tranny Mess of a Past from Transylvania and is not Apologizing for it |
[Jan. 21st, 2009|03:46 am] |
I was reading through some of my old LJ Archives. It made me sad that most of the crazy posts I made were so damn vague that even I don't understand them! After awhile I wised up and started leaving private explanation posts.
Ok, I made a post in here for 2009. Probably my last. I still read this when I run out of internet though. Facebook is just so much better. It's funny how it merged the ideas of LJ and Myspace onto one platform and then some. If LJ survives until 2010, I'll be greatly surprised. Rumor has it they are running out of funds....and employees.
I graduate May 8th, 2009. My last exam as an undergraduate is April 28th at 1:30 PM. I'm getting two degrees: Psychology B.S. and Interpersonal/Organizational Communication B.A. I'm not double major. I'm double degree. This means I'm getting two diplomas. How the random order of classes I took equalled exactly 150 credit hours in the end, I'll never know. Technically I would have been done at 141, but I figured I'd take a few more classes so I could hang two frames on the wall. Five years, half a decade. I've got a couple more years of grad school and then I can finally get a real damn job. I'm ready to earn a living and actually have money to by the necesities and the extras in life. This transition period has been one of the most stressful times in my life, but I know it could always be worse, which what keeps me going. One of my biggest influences of the current times is Nick. I would not know where I would be right now if we never met. Thankfully that's something I'll never have to worry about.
Reading my old shit piles of text has shown me that I truly have grown as a person and have reached a new level of maturity. My priorities have changed. My outlook on life has changed. I feel that I have recieved more rewards than regrets, but I guess it's not a bad thing if the only regrets I have involve not communicating or hanging out with as many of my friends as I used to. I'm sure I'm not alone in that boat. One day I dream of having a BIG house party in a BIG house and inviting everyone I know, because I never forget my friends, no matter what degree of a friend they may be. It took a lot of thought, but as adults, we are just do darn busy, it's so easy to forget to breathe. I often wonder why we do this, but I think it's for survival. If we all went out and partied all the time, with no regard to our studies or careers, we just wouldn't be in as happy a place.
Apparently one thing hasn't changed with making profound LJ entries. I always tend to write an essay when I only meant to write one sentence.
So, in about 10-15-20 years, BIG party at my house?
(BTW, I made all A's (4) last semester. Quite the miracle. So I'm going to try and NOT fail my last 3 classes....) |

[Jul. 3rd, 2008|05:44 pm] |
Hey, I don't really use this feature on MySpace alot (or at all) but I need everyone's help. There's this competition for a scholarship hosted by Fastweb and Dell. Basically you submit a video saying why you need a scholarship.
And thats where you come in. When you go to my profile you'll see the video embedded there. Watch it (I think you'll like it) and then click the video to go the website where you can register and vote. The site is only up for this competition so don't worry about getting spam mail.
Voting goes on until July 10, and you can vote once each day. Thanks everyone, your help is much appreciated!!
-Rinaldo
I know this is LJ, but I wanted to leave Rinaldo's message intact.
Thanks Everyone! :)
(BTW, You can vote once EVERYDAY!!!)

| Vote NO on Amendment 2 this November! |
[Feb. 29th, 2008|02:02 am] |
Regardless of your feelings about same-sex marriage, this amendment goes too far. Same-sex marriage is already illegal in Florida.
Don't be fooled. This amendment will force government into personal decisions made by ALL unmarried couples in our state, whether they are gay or not.
If this amendment passes, any unmarred couple sharing any sort of benefits – be they health care, pensions, even hospital visitation rights – would be denied those rights, benefits and protections.
Even domestic partner registries, which allow unmarried committed couples to take care of one another, would be eliminated. A growing number of municipalities in Florida, and more than half of the Fortune 500 companies, have domestic partner registries, so their elimination will take away existing rights and benefits.
Florida Red and Blue is a statewide campaign that has raised nearly $2 million to oppose Amendment 2. They’re a top-notch organization with years of Florida campaign experience. They’re made up of Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, and many unaffiliated people who want government to play its proper role, without drifting into areas it doesn’t belong – like who you can have a relationship with.
You know how expensive it is to run a campaign in a big state like Florida but it’s important that we defeat Amendment 2. Please click http://www.floridaredandblue/contribute/karl to contribute to Florida Red and Blue.
For more information about Amendment 2 or Florida Red and Blue, log on to http://www.FloridaRedandBlue.com.
You can read the wording of the amendment there.
Please give if you can, tell all your friends, and remember to VOTE NO to Amendment 2 in November!
Please repost this everywhere you think it would be appropriate, and email it to everyone you know. Feel free to copy and paste if that makes it easier. Or rewrite it in your own words. Thanks!
---------------------------------------
From a supporter:
Don't be confused by many fluent words which hold no merit. Please read the amendment for yourself before following an immoral voice who does not, themself, understand the meaning of Amendment 2. Nowhere does it state that anyone will be told "who you can have a relationship with." You can date and be with whomever you choose.
I signed the petition to get Amendment 2 on the ballot. I did so because I want to protect the sacredness of marriage and the decency still held to a high regard in OUR America. I hope you agree to protect our values with me!
Your vote all comes down to what you know is morally right in your heart. Vote YES on Amendment 2 in November and thank you for your support!
---------------------------------------------
My Response:
I personally believe that you are misinformed on what the repercussions would be in supporting this amendment. Not only will it deny certain rights already in place, but also effects EVERYONE gay AND straight, young AND elderly, in the process. Domestic partnerships give committed couples similar rights without disenfranchising the sanctity of marriage. Divorce takes care of such methods. Denying such rights only hurts the family and community, creating only chaos. Such unifying rights have already found themselves in the legal code of various Floridian counties and have been deemed highly successful. The "ceremony" of marriage is already protected in it's own religious right. This proposed law is an act of discrimination upon every resident in the state of Florida. What many are unclear about and what the media portrays in accordance to this amendment are synonymous to the "banning" of gay marriage. However, gay marriage is NOT a legal sanction in Florida and voting NO will not commence the process of such practices. |

| Another Issue Warped By the Media... |
[Feb. 4th, 2008|07:49 am] |
Oh lovely petition 05-10, what does it REALLY say?
"Be it enacted by the people of Florida that: A new section for Article I is hereby created to add the following:
Inasmuch as marriage is the legal union of only one man and one woman as husband and wife, no other legal union that is treated as marriage or the substantial equivalent thereof shall be valid or recognized"
What does this mean? This seemingly simple amendment is straight forward in the fact that it states rights that are currently granted to men and women irrigardless of sexual preference, identity, or orientation, would be restricted to only married couples consisting of one man and one woman.
I don't find it difficult to understand. Do you? As discriminatory and submissing as this law sounds, it's not the only issue at hand I'm fighting. It's the fact of the media's narrow focus on only ONE group that this proposed amendment may affect, and the avenue of which they lead their discussion.
Over the past year I've heard this proposal as an "Anti-Gay Marraige" amendment, when in reality this is not the case. This estranged tactic to coerce voters into an unrealistic ultimatum is utterly disgusting. The portrayal of a "No" vote within the media creates the mindset that "Gay Marriage" would be legalized, when in fact voting against the amendment would leave the current laws and regulations in place and UNCHANGED. Meaning that actual "Gay Marriage" would continue to NOT EXIST within the state of Florida, thus not causing any legal harm....to anyone. My persepctive of various news sources shows that the only issue here is YES for gay marriage or NO for gay marriage, but gays would not be the only victims to a "YES" vote on #05-10.
A 60 percent or more vote on this proposal would result in the dismemberment of any past, current, and future civil unions and domestic partnerships. This includes HETEROSEXUAL COUPLES. So where does the news get this "Gay Marriage" garbage from? I, like many others, gay/straight/other, would like to enjoy the rights and privledges of a civil union/domestical partnership without having to depart the state of Florida. The term "marriage" is more the legal excecution than it is a religious ceremony. The biggest question should be "Where is our separation of church and state?" Well not only are church and state conjoined like a siamese disaster, but there is a third sibling called "The Media" which supports the lives of the former two. Now THAT is a union that should be permanently broken. I wish to see it happen in my lifetime, or at least the beginnings.
I would like to be able to visit my partner in the hospital...
I would like to be able to adopt children WITH my partner...
I would like to be able to share employment benefits with my partner...
This list goes on...
So the next time you hear about this "Ban Gay Marriage" amendment, Please think about the ambiguity of those words, what they really mean, and who they really affect. This isn't about protecting marriage (that should be up to each couple if you ask me!) and this isn't about gay marriage (Still won't be legal with a "No" vote!), this is about destroying the current rights of others through a misleading venue of information and the continuous burning iron of hatred, ignorance, and discrimination. |
